Mutual Care Works

Founder & Lead Consultant

Born and raised in Louisiana, Jack is a public health educator, harm reduction practitioner, and community organizer rooted in the South. Their commitment to public health began as a research associate with the National HIV Behavioral Surveillance (NHBS) project, where they worked within the People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) cycle, focusing on community-informed data and harm reduction strategies.

Jack later managed the largest syringe exchange program on the Gulf Coast, deepening their dedication to mutual aid, overdose prevention, and low-barrier care. Grounded in lived experience and a belief that care should never be conditional, they went on to found Below Sea Level Aid to support the communities that raised them and to fight for access to basic services across Louisiana, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

Through their work with Mutual Care Works, Jack brings public health education, harm reduction, and care infrastructure design together to support community-led solutions throughout the South.
